In many photography workshops students are advised to ALWAYS carry a camera. On occasion, I've followed this advice but as my digital camera is rather bulky, and my phone camera is always in my pocket, I rarely lug it around for those "just in case" moments. However, one thing I have learned is to keep it handy when flying.
My view of this spectacular cloudscape lasted for less than a minute -- absolutely no time to vacate my row-mates, rummage through the overhead bin, worm my way back to the window seat, adjust the appropriate settings and grab the shot. Thankfully, my camera bag was on the floor between my feet. I would not have wanted to miss this!
For all of you who’ve had the great good fortune to witness a breathtaking panorama from 35,000 feet – this is for YOU.
